At Athabasca University, I had the privilege of designing and developing a WordPress website for an academic conference centered on open learning. This project was particularly meaningful as it aimed to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among educators and researchers passionate about the open learning movement.
I chose the Understrap theme framework for its versatility, which allowed me to create a visually appealing and functional site. Additionally, I utilized the Gutenberg editor, enabling the creation of dynamic content blocks that made it easy for the conference organizers to update and manage the site. This combination of tools ensured that the website not only met the specific needs of the conference but also provided a seamless user experience for attendees, enhancing their engagement with the event.
