My internet journey started in 1994 when my dad handed me a floppy disk with Netscape Navigator. I was just a kid growing up in Vancouver, but that quirky little browser sparked a lifelong obsession with all things digital—a passion that’s guided my path ever since.
At night, I threw myself into web design and development at BCIT, determined to master the skills that would bring that project to life. It was a grind, but it paid off—setting the stage for everything that followed.
From Vancouver, I moved to Kamloops to work as a web designer and developer at Thompson Rivers University. There, I sharpened my technical skills and started to see the bigger picture of how digital tools could serve people and organizations. Later, I took a role as a frontend developer at Athabasca University in Alberta, diving deeper into the world of online platforms and user experience.
My time at WordPress agency Reaction Digital as a senior developer was a turning point—I witnessed firsthand how a well-crafted online presence could transform a business, driving growth and opening doors. That experience stuck with me, shaping how I approach every project today.
Now, I’ve settled on the Sunshine Coast, where I’m a full-time freelance web developer and digital marketing specialist. I bring years of experience building websites—sites that don’t just look good but work hard to connect with your audience.
Beyond that, I’m skilled in search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM), helping businesses boost their visibility and hit their goals. I also partner with clients to develop effective digital strategies tailored to their needs.
This work got intensely personal in 2023 when my wife and I opened a hair salon in Sechelt, BC. She’s the talent behind the shears; I’m the one handling the digital side—building our website, testing what draws clients in, and refining our online reach. It’s been a crash course in the real-world challenges small business owners face online, and it’s made me even more committed to what I do.
