Introduction
I have been involved with the Kamloops Film Society since 2019, when it took over the Paramount Theatre in Downtown Kamloops. I have designed and built three iterations of the website. The current version has been built with the focus of the KFS staff having to do as little work as possible when adding new events and showtimes.
About the site
The site is a custom WordPress theme I made from scratch. It employs the Advanced Custom Fields Pro and Events Calendar Pro plugins. In the backend, when staff go to add a showtime, rather than finding all the details about the film such as the poster art, trailer on YouTube, actor and director names, etc., they simply enter the ID of the film from the excellent TMDB (The movie database). Details of the film are then loaded via API dynamically.
